BRAKE ROTORS
Why
change brake rotors
Tens of thousands of miles
of driving in all types of weather conditions is
hard on brakes. And while drivers expect their vehicle’s
disc brake
pads to wear out over time, what they don’t
always realize is that their vehicle’s brake rotors
are wearing out too.
The pressure and heat generated
by the brake
pads rubbing against the brake
rotors combined with the dirt and debris that
gets between them wears away metal, slowly removing
the material that was designed to act as a heat
sink to maintain braking
performance and efficiency.
Once
brake rotors have worn to their minimum thickness
it’s time to replace them along with the brake
pads.
Brembo
brake rotors is a worldwide leader in the engineering,
development and production of braking systems and
components for automobiles, motorcycles and commercial
vehicles in the Original Equipment, Aftermarket,
Racing and High Performance market segments.
Starting with a casting from
a Brembo foundry that assures uniform thickness,
Brembo OE Replacement Brake Rotors are machined
to exacting tolerances (the rotor run-out tolerance
is only 0.0025”, about half of the industry norm),
feature a braking surface finish (ground or fine
turned) compatible with the vehicle’s OE specifications
and are electronically balanced to minimize the
possibility of vibration.
Brembo offers its OE Replacement
Rotors with the same levels of quality, technology
and performance that have earned it Dodge Viper,
Ferrari, Ford Mustang Cobra and Mercedes-Benz OEM
fitments. All Brembo OE Replacement Brake Rotors
are manufactured under QS-9000 and ISO 9001 certifications
to ensure the highest level of quality. Brembo
brake rotors offer applications for most every
automobile — domestic to import, compact car to
luxury SUV.
Zimmermann
Ventilated Sport Brake Rotors / Discs
Otto Zimmermann GmbH had been
developing and producing high quality motor vehicle
components for the car manufacturers and spare parts
market. Moving to a new location in Sinsheim in
1990 became a landmark for Otto
Zimmermann GmbH. To date Otto Zimmermann
GmbH has increased the facilities including production
and storage space to cover 11.000 square meters.
The production programme includes
more than 1000 varied brake and engine components
that are marketed and exported via the trade wholesalers
to 60 different countries. Zimmermann
long-term aim is to have a cost effective and extensive
share in all the motor vehicle markets worldwide.
In the year 2000 the founding of the Otto Zimmermann
Truck GmbH enables the trading partners in the commercial
vehicles division to profit from an individual marketing
concept.
The Zimmermann
ventilated sport brake rotor/disc was developed
using the experience gained in motor sports. All
sport brake discs are made out of high quality heat
resistant material. In conjunction with the ventilated
brake disc surface Zimmermann sport brake rotor/disc
forms an optimal braking system.
The Zimmermann
Know-How was achieved through experience gained
in racing sport. The technology is a guarantee for
your safety and the efficiency of the brake system.
All our Zimmermann
sport brake rotors/discs were put through extensive
trials on the Hockenheim Ring and as sole German
manufacturer we guarantee under extreme conditions
with more than 250 references from the ABE of RW
TÜV.
For more than 50 years Zimmermann
has been delivering tested and tried brake and engine
components to well-known car-manufacturers and the
spare parts market. The all-round programme enables
Zimmermann to offer the high quality suitable brake
disc drum for practically every vehicle on the market.
Permanent investments in measuring
instruments, test facilities and qualified workers
are obligatory for us and the first essential for
a continual improvement process at Zimmermann. Starting
from the model and the casting of the brake rotor/disc
cast iron parts to the finished product all quality
relevant details are recorded and analyzed and flow
into the continual quality improvement treasurer
in all manufacturing process.
The wear holes of a Zimmermann
sport brake rotors/discs are equipped with oversized
holes. Apart from the specific braking advantages
the wear hole has a further advantage. It is so
constructed that one can continually observe when
the minimal parallelism has been reached. When the
wear hole is no longer visible through the bore
it is necessary to change the brake rotor/disc because
it is not within the tolerance.
Zimmermann
sport brake rotors/discs are compatible with
OEM brake systems.
